New Law regarding contractors and public adjusters

Several people living in Keller, Southlake, Haslet, and other areas of the metroplex will be getting their roof replaced over the next several weeks and there have recently been legal changes to what a roofing contractor can and can not do regarding their assistance to homeowners who are filing an insurance claim.  If you need a new roof, be careful about hiring a roofing contractor who claims to be an “insurance claims specialist” or one who offers to “represent you” regarding your claim.  As of September, 2013 this practice is no longer legal.  While there is nothing illegal about a roofing contractor walking you through your paperwork or discussing what you can expect in relation to your insurance claim, he or she is not allowed to act as an adjuster or an attorney.  If your insurance company is not offering you a fair settlement amount with your insurance claim, let me know.  I have a personal relationship with individuals who can help…legally.
